Join Nicola Benedetti and our incredible team of tutors to prepare, rehearse and perform together.

During these sessions, we will be approaching music in a way that inspires fun and enjoyment and a great sense of togetherness.

The Beginner Orchestra is for string players who are working at around Grade 1-3 standard and will join us on Saturday and Sunday. You will work on two pieces of music across the weekend which you will receive along with tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

The Introductory Orchestra is for those who have just begun playing (we recommend you have had at least half a term's worth of lessons), up to around Grade 1 level and will join us on Sunday only. We will work on one piece of music which you will receive in advance, along with tutorial videos from our Tutors to help you prepare.

Everyone will also receive a creative activity in advance to encourage you to immerse yourselves in the story of the music during the preparation period.

On the sessions, both orchestras will explore expression, rhythm, storytelling, sound production, freedom in playing, the context of the music and improvisation, as well as delving into specific technical challenges.

The Sessions end with a short performance. Subject to capacity, we hope families will be able to join us for the sharing session on Sunday.

On sign up, please add the link to a short video of your playing. This can be sent after you have completed the registration form but should be received by 15 November.

A two-part series focusing on developing vibrato for advanced violinists & violists. A follow on to the July vibrato session, but equally as accessible to new participants, these sessions will allow you to extend your vibrato skills in the higher positions and with double stops and to explore the different colours and textures which can be achieved for different characters. This is recommended for advanced players
